e-Gem Energy Management System

e-Gem is an innovative extension of the FlowChief platform, which provides a future oriented solution for energy monitoring and energy data management. Individual requirements can be met in an efficient and flexible manor.

Benefits:

  • Accessible and efficient energy management: e-Gem provides a transparent energy management, simple and efficient.

  • Intuitive operation: Operation and management of the energy management system is easy and user friendly.

  • Easy integration: Thanks to supported IT standards such as HTML5, SQL, LDAP, OAuth, OPC UA, MQTT and TLS, e-Gem can easily be integrated into existing infrastructures.

  • High flexibility: Application over all sectors and branches through high versatility.

  • Developed by experts: A professional solution developed by experienced energy managers.

  • Conform with norms: Fulfills the requirements of ISO 50001 norms and also DIN EN 16247-1 and DIN EN 17463.

Notee-Gem is integrated close into the FlowChief platform. Most of the important energy management functions require Add-Ons. Minimum requirement recommendation: Widgets (FC_Widgets), WebReports (see Licensing).

Functionalities:

  • Flexible structure: Organisation, media and tariffs can be defined as required and linked to each other - depending on individual needs.

  • Historicisation of configurations: Not only consumption data but also the entire configuration is archived historically. This is how dynamic object structures stay correctly available over a long term.

  • Seemless integration: As part of the FlowChief platform, e-Gem uses the high performing technology features such as native web technology, comprehensive connectivity, multitenancy, modularity and scalability.

  • Extended functionalities: e-Gem provides more features then the classical energy management such as visualisation, control, alerting, audit, maintenance and data management.

The EnergyXplorer is the central e-Gem interface: It is a tool for monitoring, navigation and engineering.

The Dashboard is versatile. Complex energy context can be analysed easily.

The identification of SEUs can be performed in an instant with WebReports. The analysis can be performed individually with structure elements (e.g.: Organisation, Media).

The Sankey diagram displays the current energy flow and also data from past periods in a clear overview.

The flow diagram is the ideal base for a simple metering concept validation through to residual amount counters and plausibility checks.

Details
Energy Data Capture
Connectivity

The FlowChief system provides a broad band of integrated drivers and interfaces. This is why he integration of all relevant data (counters, PLC database, third party software, web service; ERP systems, energy sector) is so simple. More at Connectivity.

Organisation nodes (Metering point structure)
  • Hierarchic structure with access right management

  • Base for application of filters, analysis, reporting and evaluation

Hierarchic structure of consumers

Connection of metering points as parent and child metering points as base for Flow Charts and Sankey Diagram.

Types of metering points
  • Standard counter: Data capturing via pulse counter, PLC counter, operating time, manual capturing, integration of meter reading

  • Virtual: Derivation factor, remaining amount, free calculation provision, superordinate sum

  • Standardisation: Weather adjustments, norm volume

Meter reading functions
Metering point historicisation
  • Data heritage (e.g. meter type, factor), hyrarchy, tariff and cost center assignment

  • Assignment of organisation nodes and metering devices

Capturing of influence variables
  • Integration of meter readings, digital signals and master data

  • Linkage of metering points and key point factors

Plausibility check
Inventory of metering devices

Maintenance of master data including calibration and switching dates (link to Maintenance module)

Energetic Evaluation
PDCA Tool (Efficiency measures)
  • Goal: Free definition, Monitoring, link to measures

  • Maßnahmen: Types such as manual capturing, reference time, reference variable, not measurable; monitoring of consumption, cost and amortisation; profitability assessment according to DIN EN 17463

  • Evaluation – Analysis of all measures and comprehension of costs, savings and goal achievement

  • Video to PDCA (German)

Efficiency Monitoring
Monitoring of limit values and notification
  • Multiple monitoring possibilities of online values and forecast

  • Rule based analysis of archive data (Analytics)

  • Event capturing in the Message archive

  • Multiple notification channels (Message & Alerting platform)

  • Monitoring of counters, EnPIs, influence variables, operating time, …

Support of energy KPI's
  • Integrated (multiple) regressions analysis for the creation of KPI's

  • Analysis of KPI's via charts, dashboard, reporting

  • Notification at violation of limit value

  • Conform with DIN ISO 50006 (Energy KPI's)

Energy-Controlling
Support of cost centers
  • Hierarchic presentation

  • Percentage distribution of consumption on various cost centers

  • Historicized assignment of metering points to cost centers

  • Hierarchic access right to cost center structures

  • Presentation of consumption with aggregation of cost centers in dashboard and reporting

Tariff support
  • Historicized assignment of tariffs to metering points

  • Derivation of billing interval to media

  • Tariff elements: consumption price, administration and fixed costs

  • Assignment of keys for the ERP system

  • Presentation of costs aggregated by cost centers, organisation, media in reporting

  • Consumption and cost report (Webreports)
