User Administration

Creation and management of a User or User Groups is performed within the FlowChief User Administration.

Individual settings (e.g. language, log on, etc.)can be made for a user within the User Properties.

Access to various parts of the FlowChief system are granted within the Rights Management. Furthermore, access rights are specified - these have a hierarchic ranking (Hierarchical order of access rights)

A random number of users and user groups can be created. Users can be members of arbitrary user groups.

A FlowChief user can be created as a domain user, just as groups can be created as domain groups. LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) or LDAPS (Lightweight Directory Access Procotol over Secure Socket Layer) is applied to request the user data from the related directory server.

The access to local or external LDAP registries is possible. LDAP provides fast access to the required data, through its simple protocol structure.

NoteThe implantation of LDAP in the FlowChief system is layed out for active directory servers. The integration of other providers should be verified in advance.

This procedure enable a single sign-on for users. Access all required system with just one login of username and password - including the FlowChief system. The management of user accesses will be much easier for system administrators through to a centralization on the domain controller.

Explicit users for certain procedures (e.g. Scheduler and Message Templates) need to be created (refer to Features of User Access Rights).

To prevent password hacking accounts will be locked after 5 failed attempts. The lock increases from 5 minutes at the beginning up to 30 minutes. Please see our Password policy
