Redundancy

The FlowChief redundancy module (FC_Redundancy) enables the operation of a hot- or cold-standby redundancy system. In case the main server fails, the backup server takes over all operations automatically and ensures the availability of the FlowChief system. All functionalities like Visualization, Archiving, Alerting, etc. are continuously available at failover. Communication is also performed redundant - no matter if connected via OPC UA or FlowChief Connect.

Functional principle: A Failover Cluster is installed (minimum of 2 servers). These servers receive an identical FlowChief installation. Both including identical hardware for process interfacing and alterting.

A FlowChief Cluster-Role is installed and provided with an IP address and domain name. This enables the user to access the current active FlowChief system.
