Multitenancy
Multitenancy capability describes the ability of software to serve multiple clients (e.g. customers, departments or user groups) independently of one another. Each client has its own protected instance, without others being able to access data or functions.
Das FlowChief Identity & Access Management (IAM) provides a full multitenancy architecture.
-
Each user group works in its own instance.
-
Instances are strictly separated from each other and can be configured independently.
-
Based on the FlowChief functional modules, flexible, independent solutions are created.
Available functional modules per instance
-
Visualization & Evaluation: Visualization incl. SCADA, Charts, Dashboard, WebReports
-
Operation & Organisation: Message and Alerting Platform & Standby Service, Maintenance
-
Energy Management: Site or operation wide energy data analysis (Analytics (FC_Analytics))
Furthermore, connectors can be assigned individually per client – e.g. OPC UA, IEC 60870-5-104 or MQTT Connector connections to third-party systems.
Administration & Rights Management
System administrators with global rights have the ability to access the entire information model across all clients. This also allows centralised applications to be developed that connect multiple instances. A finely granular role and rights model guarantees full data sovereignty for each individual client at all times.
Benefits of the FlowChief multitenancy concept
High flexibility: Each instance is individually tailored to the client's requirements.
-
Maximum security: Strict separation of data, roles and rights.
-
Scalability: From individual systems to international, distributed fleet solutions.
-
Interoperability: Easy integration into existing system landscapes via connectors.
Typical Use Cases
- Combined systems
- Municipal utilities with electricity, gas, heating, water and sewage systems
- Associations with water and sewage systems on a single system
-
Industrial application
-
Operation of multiple locations, systems or machines in one software package, but clearly separated according to authorised user groups (e.g. control system, SCADA, GLT).
-
Cross-location energy data management for manufacturing companies.
-
-
Contracting & Operational Management
-
Portal solution for service providers or operators of energy plants and assets.
-
Uniform platform for monitoring, billing and service.
-
-
Manufacturer & IoT
-
IoT portal solutions for machine builders, service providers, or manufacturers.
-
Provision of customer-specific client instances with their own range of functions.
-
-
Energy & Smart City
-
Smart city applications for municipal utilities and energy suppliers.
-
Cross-client energy management with centralised evaluation and control.
-
In short: combines full client separation with the ability to develop cross-platform applications – ideal for businesses, manufacturers and utilities that need a flexible and scalable platform.
