Configuration via Excel™ Workbook

The complete configuration of the FlowChief system can be done via the control station and/or by an Excel™ workbook (FC_ImportExport). Generally the largest part of the configuration of the FlowChief system will be realized via the Excel™ workbook. This is the most comfortable way of configuration because the advantages of Microsoft Excel™ can be used within the specified Excel workbook.

The Excel file is divided in different worksheets, linked together. Macros are integrated to check plausibility and wrong inputs. Also all interactions with the FlowChief system are implemented.

All configuration changes via the Excel workbook can be done at any time and during operation. No shutdown of the FlowChief system server is needed.

The whole configuration can be transferred back into the Excel file at any time. This way the entire backup documentation is available at all times.

The back-up Excel file shows the entire content of the process plant structure, inclusive all configuration data of the single measurements. So the Excel file reveals completely the system state at that time and builds also the basis for further changes and extensions.

NoteNever activate macros for documents you don't know their origin off (e.g. E-Mail attachments). This could infect your computer with malware. Do not accept macros globally!
